If your partner wants to appeal against her sentence, or needs any other legal help, the solicitor who acted for her before they went into prison should be contacted. If your partner does not have a solicitor she should contact one of the organisations mentioned further on that can help.
There are rules about who may visit prison and how often. If your partner is on remand, the visiting rules are less strict but you still need to phone and arrange a time for your visit. If your partner has been convicted, you will need to apply for a visiting order.
If your partner wishes to complain about the conditions in the prison, there are set procedures for doing so. You may be able to help.
You or your partner may need help to sort out benefits and housing problems, matters concerning the children or debt problems. There are organisations who can help with these and other matters.
