NHS charges and optical voucher values

You can find information about NHS charges in Wales in a NHS leaflet called Charges and Optical Voucher Values (HC12W). You can get this leaflet from the Welsh Assembly Government website at: http://wales.gov.uk.

Since this leaflet was published in April 2009, the cost of NHS sight tests has increased. HC3W holders now have to pay up to £20.70 for a sight test at an optical practice or £57.16 for a sight test at home.

You may now get a tax credit exemption certificate if your annual income is less than £15,276. This certificate gives you full help with NHS costs.

The value of optical vouchers has also increased.
