Applying for British citizenship - changes

The Government has announced that they want to introduce changes in the way that people coming to settle in the UK from outside the European Union can apply for British citizenship. The changes may be introduced in 2009 – 2010. The new conditions may be more difficult to meet so, if you're thinking about applying for British citizenship, you might want to start applying before the new rules come in.

The Home Office UK Border Agency website has more information about the changes and also about applying for British citizenship now. Go to: (New window) www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk.
