If you are British Citizens, every member of the family now needs to have their own passport to go anywhere abroad unless you are travelling to the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or the Irish Republic. Babies also need their own passports. However, if any of your children are under 16 and are already on your passport which was issued before October 1998, they can still travel with you on that passport until your passport expires or they reach the age of 16 - which ever is sooner.

You can get passport application forms from the main post offices and larger travel agents. They can help you fill the forms in correctly and send them off for you for an extra fee, or they will give you an information leaflet telling you how to fill out the form yourself, where to send it, and what type of identification you need to send.
