Advice if you're on a fixed-rate mortgage - In Scotland

If you're coming off a fixed-rate mortgage in the near future, you might need to take action now to avoid financial problems later on.

A fixed-rate mortgage is one where the amount you pay on your mortgage is the same every month for an agreed period of time.

When a fixed-rate mortgage comes to an end, your payments will usually go up, sometimes by quite a large amount.

It's a good idea to plan ahead to make sure you can afford the higher payments. To find out how, see the Money Advice Trust leaflet at: www.moneyadvicetrust.org.
