Children and young people

Child benefit is a tax-free benefit paid to most people with children. You may also be able to claim child tax credit if you are on a low income.

Other benefits can help with the cost of a new baby, childcare or if a child is disabled.

Some of the rules about benefits depend on your age. If you are a young person aged 14 - 17, find out the age restrictions on benefits.
