Civil rights - In N. Ireland

I'm a wheelchair user and my local library is really unhelpful about helping me to get books from the shelves.  Can I do something about this?

This information applies to England, Wales and Northern Ireland

Under the Disability Discrimination Act, it is unlawful for providers of services not to provide their service to people with disabilities. This would include not enabling people to access books.

If you think you have been discriminated against because you have a disability, contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission at: (New window) www.equalityhumanrights.com.

To find out more about unlawful discrimination and people with disabilities, see Disability Discrimination.
