How do I arrange a proxy vote for someone?

This information applies to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

My mother is in hospital and will be there during the election.  She’s asked me if I can arrange a proxy vote for her.

If you are in hospital, you can vote by proxy or use a postal vote. Either way, you must apply to the electoral registration office of the constituency where you are on the electoral register. The application must be received at least six working days before the election.

To find out more about voting when you are in hospital, see Voting procedures.
