I'm disabled - can I get help using my library?

This information applies to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

I’m a wheelchair user and my local library is really unhelpful about helping me to get books from the shelves. Can I do something about this?

It is unlawful for providers of services not to provide their service to people with disabilities. This would include not enabling people to access books.

If you have experienced discrimination, you can also get help from the Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS) discrimination helpline.
