Equity release – raising money from your home

Equity release is a way of using the value of your home to raise money. This could be in the form of an additional income, a cash lump sum, or both.
You can find information about equity release in a leaflet produced by the financial watchdog the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
The leaflet:
- gives you information about the different equity release schemes and how to use them
- points out some of the risks involved in these schemes
- answers some of the questions you may have.
