Why is this important?
New year, new you - new gym?
Date: 4 February 2013
With the beginning of a new year, you may be thinking about doing some exercise and getting fitter.
If you’re thinking of joining a gym, be careful about getting locked into a contract – it could be a waste of cash if you’re not sure how long you might go for.
Before you join, look around at the facilities and find out if you can have a free trial. If you know someone else who already goes to the gym, they may be able to get a pass for you. Or you could go to a gym where you pay each time you visit or for a few months. This may work out more expensive, but could be cheaper if you’re not going to go all year. No frills gyms are another option - cheaper gyms that allow you to cancel at any time.
You could also try exercising elsewhere for free, for example walking or running outside.
