If my train is late, what compensation can I get?

This information applies to England, Wales and Scotland

If your train is delayed or cancelled and you choose not to travel, you can get a full refund.  If you decide not to travel for another reason, you can usually get a refund if you pay a handling fee.

If the train is delayed and you still travel, you may be able to get compensation from the train company. How much compensation you can claim will depend on which company you bought your train ticket from.
