This information applies to Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland, charities are not registered at present although there are plans to do so in 2010. Charity collections are currently regulated by the police service of Northern Ireland.
If you have concerns about a charity, you can contact the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland at www.dsdni.gov.uk.
If you've got a complaint about the fundraising activities of a charity or other fundraising organisation, you may be able to complain to the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB).
To find out whether a charity is an FRSB member and how to go about making a complaint, go the FRSB public website at www.givewithconfidence.org.uk.
